VOXPOP FOR MUSEUMS
PARTNERS
BRING THE POWER OF ROLE-PLAY INTO
YOUR MUSEUM
Using the VOXPOP platform, we can help you create dynamic new educational programs for your visitors.
We have worked with museums to develop immersive educational programming for visitors.
For example, we worked with Revolutionary Spaces to develop Revolution is Brewing, a 90-minute experience for students grade 8 and up about the aftermath of the Boston Tea Party. Twelve to forty participants take on the roles of British subjects across the political spectrum. Visitors to the the Old South Meeting House can play Revolution is Brewing in the very room where the Boston Tea Party began. School groups can also sign up for a virtual session that can be played in the classroom.

WHY ROLE-PLAY?
ACTIVATE YOUR SPACE THROUGH PARTICIPATION
Role-play brings a space to life by turning visitors into active participants. Participants learn about the content, not just by reading and listening, but through their own voice and decisions.
ENGAGE WITH A VARIETY PERSPECTIVES
Role-play asks participants to try and see the world through a different perspective. This is a valuable skill not only for developing empathy, but for figuring out how to work with others.
FOSTER LEARNING & DEEP CONNECTIONS
As participants move through a role-play, they take in different information and then share it with each other. This fosters an environment of critical thinking, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
WHAT TEACHERS SAY
I used several of the VOXPOP activities with my high school students, with impressive results. As a thirty-year veteran educator, I have used a number of interactive activities, none matching the level of engagement I observed in my students. Most importantly, the VOXPOP activities reinforce Deep Learning as outlined by the global partnership, New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL). Through these activities, students have the opportunity to develop the Six Global Competencies of Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Critical thinking in a way that they find enjoyable - a teacher's dream!
